Oblivion

Moments after the dusk hanged itself
I lay awake all alone
Beneath the star strewn sky
Staring incessantly at them
I sensed the secret they wished to share;
I could fathom the depth of my own self
Though their language was alien to me.
They seem to be telling
That I am a speck in the universe so infinite
And my life just so insignificant
And so full of hitch and hatred
So full of blood and tears;
Yet, I wander amidst stray dogs
Rummaging for pride, fame and name
Peeling out every bit of shame.
And by dawn, the maid raked out
The scrap of I, me and myself
Along with the dead leaves.
